A bit about the cause…
When the shelter-in-place order went into effect in early March, I began to consider how I was going to use my newfound creative time and freedom in a way that not only grew the skills I wanted to grow as a musician and producer, but connected that endeavor to the larger context of our world in flux.

In the spirit of continuing to create in the quiet, and in support of some of our most vulnerable people, I am releasing one song per month - both originals and covers - with the proceeds benefitting a non-profit doing crucial work to maintain our sense of humanity. I wrote and recorded this song in my apartment about the experience of living alone through a pandemic, and I hope that it can be of some comfort to you, wherever you are.

100% of the proceeds will be matched and then given to RAICES, an organization that advocates for and supports immigrant families and children at the border, many of whom were suffering incalculable heartache even before the Covid-19 pandemic.

I produced “The Great Pause” about my experience of the duality around me. Personally, 2019 was an excruciating year, and this bookend of solitude was bizarrely well-primed for me by the year that preceded it. In this new kind of sorrow, the dashed comet trail of expectation illuminates the (ongoing) work of reframing my own lens now to see more love in these empty spaces, of hearing what is imperative in the silence, and of using the world grinding to a halt as impetus to let friction of any kind function as its own necessary energy in my life.

Big thank you to Kiel Feher, an incredible musician and person, for recording drums for me from his home studio.

As ever, we are all connected. Thank you for your support and sending you big love.
